PLC, robotics and digital twin in an integrated lab.

Smart Manufacturing & Industrial Automation Lab

Why it matters

India's manufacturing-led growth target (Make-in-India, PLI in 14 sectors) hinges on factories that can run lights-out: PLC + SCADA + MES + digital-twin, with humans only on exceptions. SMIA puts the live, vendor-grade stack — Siemens / Mitsubishi PLCs, Kawasaki and FANUC robotic arms, OPC-UA, MQTT and digital-twin simulation — into the hands of engineering students before they ever set foot on an OEM floor.

What you learn here

  • PLC, SCADA and MES integration (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Rockwell)
  • Industrial robotics — Kawasaki, FANUC, ABB cells
  • OPC-UA / MQTT industrial networking and edge analytics
  • Digital twin and predictive-maintenance modelling
06CIDSA

AI-Enabled Agri Tech Lab

The platform for Indian precision agriculture.

AI-Enabled Agri Tech Lab

Why it matters

Indian agriculture employs nearly half the workforce but contributes ~17% of GDP — the productivity gap is the single largest economic opportunity in the country. CIDSA is the dedicated Centre of Excellence anchored at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru (GKVK), closing that gap with AI-driven agronomy, drone & GEO-spatial analytics, soil/water/climate IoT and an Agri-LLM advisory platform that speaks the farmer's own language.

What you learn here

  • AI-driven agronomy and crop-health prediction
  • Drone & GEO-spatial intelligence for precision farming
  • Soil, water and climate analytics via Agri-IoT
  • Agri-LLM advisory platform for farmers & extension workers

Electronics System Design & Manufacturing Lab

The end-to-end ESDM training environment.

Electronics System Design & Manufacturing Lab

Why it matters

India's ESDM market is on track to cross USD 300 billion by 2026 and is the second-largest job-creation lever in the digital economy after IT services. ESDM is structured around the full product-realisation chain — schematic capture, PCB design, SMT assembly, functional test, EMI/EMC and reliability — so a graduate can walk into any Indian or global EMS partner shop-floor day one.

What you learn here

  • Schematic capture, PCB layout and DFM/DFT review
  • SMT line, reflow profiling and AOI/X-ray inspection
  • Functional test, EMI/EMC and accelerated-life reliability
